Reviewed October 19, 2026. Let’s Syndicate operates a competing business-funding marketplace. This review uses public disclosures, not a completed application, contract audit or independent performance ranking. Direct funders, marketplaces and clearly labeled alternatives are distinguished. All scenarios are illustrative, not current client results.
Toast Capital calls its product a loan, not an MCA. Its US page describes a fixed fee, repayment from daily card transactions and target terms that depend on eligibility. The distinction is essential: sales-linked collections alone do not turn a loan into a purchase of future receivables. The page’s examples are explicitly illustrative and are not offers.
Toast Capital: sales-linked payments with milestones and a final maturity
Toast describes a maximum term after the target period and automatic ACH collection of an outstanding balance at the end. It also notes that some longer target terms include minimum repayment milestones, with possible ACH collection of a shortfall. A slower-sales forecast therefore needs more than a percentage-of-card-sales calculation. No prepayment fee does not mean the original fixed fee is rebated.
How to read a Toast Capital proposal
| Comparison item | What to establish in writing |
|---|---|
| Provider and structure | restaurant business loan, an MCA alternative; verify the contracting entity and whether the offer is a loan, receipts purchase or other arrangement |
| Usable capital | Gross amount minus all charges and any required old payoff |
| Full obligation | Total principal and interest, purchased receipts, or other contractual settlement as applicable |
| Cash-flow timing | Actual collection dates, adjustment process, minimums and final maturity where applicable |
| Owner and business exposure | Guarantees, security, authorizations, covenants and default terms |
A maximum advertised amount is not a target. Size a request around a documented purchase or collection gap, and separate long-lived equipment and property costs from recurring payroll or stock needs. Public speed language may refer to a preliminary response rather than the moment cleared funds become usable.
A practical use case for this Toast Capital comparison
Illustrative use: a restaurant funds a patio improvement. Model ordinary and lower-sales periods, then test any required milestone and final balance. Additional seats do not guarantee added contribution after labor, weather, food cost and the loan fee. We do not present Toast’s testimonials as Let’s Syndicate client results.
The factor-rate and net-proceeds test
For a separate hypothetical MCA comparison, $50,000 at a 1.30 factor means $65,000 of purchased receipts. If $1,000 is withheld, net cash is $49,000 and the difference is $16,000. These are educational assumptions, not Toast Capital prices or a claim that its selected product uses factor pricing. A factor is not APR; annualized cost depends on net cash and dated collections. A loan with sales-linked payments is not automatically an MCA.
Test collections against contribution after wages, suppliers, rent, taxes and existing funding, not gross revenue. Include a slower sales period and a late major customer. A smaller periodic amount may extend the obligation or increase total cost. Do not assume early completion reduces an agreed fixed fee unless the contract says so.
Questions to ask before accepting Toast Capital funding
- Who funds and services the agreement, and which parties receive my application?
- What cash reaches my bank after fees and old payoffs, and what is the full future obligation?
- Which receipts or assets are covered, and what adjustment, reporting or minimum-payment requirements apply?
- What guarantees, security rights and restrictions on additional financing am I accepting?
- What happens at renewal, early payoff, a temporary closure or the end of the agreement?
Toast Capital alternatives and where Let’s Syndicate helps
Compare a proposed receipts purchase with business lines of credit, eligible invoice factoring, equipment financing or SBA loans when they fit the use. Eligibility, cost and speed differ. A lower-cost route is not assured, and a different structure must actually solve the timing problem.
Let’s Syndicate helps businesses explore suitable matches across its funding network and compare available written terms. Discuss your funding goals with a clear use-of-funds budget and debt schedule. The objective is capital the business can use and support, not the largest headline approval. Provider participation, decisions and final terms are not implied by this review.
